VERY SOON MORE OF PLASTIC WASTE WILL BE FOUND IN THE OCEANS THAN FISH!
We are living in the 21st century where ethics has become an important part of our lives. We are growing each day in a world full of plastic where plastic is found right from our home and towards the ocean. Plastic is choking our planet to a greater extent than we cannot even imagine. What are we actually doing? Waiting for marine life and animals to die?
Let's take an example of one of the most popular companies Coca-cola which is the most polluting brand in plastic waste audits.

For the first time, Coca-Cola has revealed it used three million tonnes of plastic packaging in one year It's hard to visualize what three million tonnes look like. But everyone can picture a blue whale. Now picture 15,000 of them. That's roughly three million tonnes.
While there are ongoing efforts to increase recycling rates, global studies have found that more than a million plastic bottles are bought per minute and 91% of are not recycled On top of that, the estimate is that next year over half a trillion plastic bottles will be sold and an estimated 455 billion of them won’t be recycled.
These bottles that aren’t recycled end up in landfills, are burned, or make their way through waterways and eventually to the ocean. The plastic producing companies should start tackling plastic problems as it might be still legal in some areas but it doesn't mean its ethical.
Now as we know plastic straws have been banned by the government but there are still many places that are selling plastic straws. We need to spread awareness regarding the ban of plastic straws as they are too dangerous for us.
The most popular franchise has stopped using plastic but what we see here is paper straws wrapped in plastic! So we see here that we are not doing enough to stop plastic waste. Companies like Starbucks are just fooling the consumers!
The amount of plastic we are producing and consuming every day sooner there will be plastic in the ocean than fish. It says if companies can't be ethical then the consumers need to become ethical and stop using plastic In order to save the environment from huge plastic waste. If this step is taken by all the consumers then ultimately the companies will have to stop the production of plastic.
RENEWLOGY a company born at MIT in 2011, has created a system that takes plastic waste and converts it into diesel fuel. The company hopes to install its conversion systems, which are roughly the size of a tennis court, at recycling centers and waste management centers across the country.
This “conversion machine” melts ten tons of plastic garbage each day in a clean, oxygen-free environment. Once melted, the chemicals are turned into several petrochemical products, including diesel and naphtha, a component used to make virgin plastics.
Plants already exist in Salt Lake City and Nova Scotia, Canada, and additional cities are already on a waiting list for Renewlogy’s plastic-consuming technology. Read more
There are many companies that are coming up with plastic tackling solutions with an increase in awareness and are trying to be ethical in some of the other ways to increase their goodwill in the market. But still, it is not enough as every year there are tons of plastic which are choking our planet and it is us who are responsible for this.
